SPAN 3 (2008-2009)
Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Bridge, Hoover Dam, Arizona
webcam composite/ digital Lightjet print, 29" x 120"

Two online cameras are mounted on either side of the Colorado River to monitor the construction of a suspension bridge 900 feet above Black Canyon.
Over the course of two years this composite has grown outwards like the bridge assembly itself; new layers of imagery are continually being added as the two structural spans reach over the canyon towards each other. In 2008, construction crews began working around the clock. Huge floodlights made it possible to capture images by night.
